Thousands Visit Places Attributed to Imam

Thousands of domestic and international tourists and pilgrims pay visit to Imam’s ancient and simply built residences during Nowruz holidays

Speaking to journalists during a news briefing, Ali Komsari, the in charge of the institute's cultural and art said that more than seventy thousands of tourists have visited Imam's simply built sites of residence and academic centers closely associated with Imam.


He added that Imam native house in the city of  Khomein, The groups of foreign and regional tourists also visit a historic house of Imam Khomeini in Tehran and holy city of Qom where the great leader opted to reside following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.


The tourists are frequently deeply impressed by simple lifestyle of Imam’s households and appreciated Imam’s devotion for his country and the oppressed nations across the globe and his spiritual and religious leadership role for Muslim world.


It is noteworthy that several academic and art competition are held at the site by the experts of relevant fields and several masterpieces and scripts of Imam’s poetry were given as gift to visitors in recent months.


The visitors also pay a visit to the galleries which contain several images, paintings, and documents reflecting the historic passage of the Islamic Revolution. Each of these objects bears a description and shows the history of the greatest movement of the twentieth century.


A gallery attached to the Imam simply-built house in Tehran also contains a video library and virtual electronic tours about the Islamic Revolution, key personalities and events.


The simply built residences of Imam attract millions of pilgrims from around the world each year.


The tourists are also informed about precious works of Imam Khomeini in the various fields including jurisprudence, philosophy, poetry and theology. It is noteworthy that several of Imam’s works have been translated into dozens of languages over the past few years. The works are also available in digital library section of this website.


After decades of struggle, the Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini gained the victory. The Islamic-democratic system establish by the great Imam brought great status and confidence to the Iranian nation and rest of the Islamic world.


Ruhullah Musawi Khomeini was born on 20 Jamadi al-Akhir 1320/ 24 September 1902- coincidence with the birth anniversary of Hadrat Fatima (PBUH)- in the small town of Khomein, some 160 kilometers to the southwest of the holy city of Qom.
