Imam Khomeini Changed Course of History

An internationally-reputed Croatian journalist maintains that the founder of the Islamic Republic changed the course of history in contemporary era.

Hasan Heidar Diab, a Croatian academic and Journalist said in an interview that a vast majority of people across the Western countries believe that the Islamic revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini had proved to be a turning point at sensitive juncture of history.


The revolution changed history in favor of oppressed nations and balance of power in the Mideast region, he added.


The people in European and Western nations are deeply impressed by divine personality of Imam and services he rendered to the humanity, emphasized the journalist who have deep knowledge of the revolution history.  


Diab also noted that Imam Khomeini’s dynamic thought, works and ideals were being explored at universities and research centers across the globe and would continue to guide people over the upcoming decades.  


The senior journalist pointed out that several research works carried out by the Western pundits and experts indicate that Imam Khomeini could manage to change the course of history in recent times.


Elsewhere in his remarks, the academic said that revolution led by the great Imam put an end to US-installed puppet and doctorial Pahlavi regime of Shah in 1979.


Commenting on historic letter by the founder of the Islamic Republic to former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, the creation figure said that the move displayed Imam’s wisdom, knowledge and deep perception of circumstances.  


The journalist strongly criticized the Islamophobia, which was systematically being spread across some Western countries, and also slammed the acts of terrorism being committed by the ISIL terrorist group and the followers of extremist Wahhabi ideology.


Touching upon Imam Khomeini’s efforts to revive Palestinian rights, the academic added that the initiative by the founder of the Islamic Republic regarding Quds is gaining momentum as people now stage massive International Quds Day rallies each year on last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan in several Western countries including Macedonia and Croatia.  


Pointing to negative role of some media outlets, the journalist said that some news channels such as Qatari-based al-Jazeera were desperately attempting to sow sectarian strife between Sunni and Shia Muslims.


The academic concluded that Imam Khomeini was a great champion of unity among all Muslims and followers of divine religions.
