One day as the Imam was taking a stroll in the front yard I entered and passed by his side. He called me up and I went up to him. He then asked: “Have you recited your ritual prayers?” to which I replied in the negative. Then he stated: “Hurry up and go and recite your ritual prayer before it loses its worth!” I did as he had asked me and went and recited my daily mandatory ritual prayer and fulfilled the Imam’s bidding. Concerning my studies the Imam had said to me: “Whenever you are idle and have nothing to do and have extra time go and attend to your studies and learn your lessons so that you can serve your society when you grow up.”
