Because the weather was pleasant and temperate in Paris, we would sleep without covering ourselves with linen sheets and the doors and windows were kept open as well. One day we woke up in the morning and noticed that the windows were closed and members of the entourage were covered with blankets. We pursued the matter. Hajj Ahmad Khomeini and the staff members expressed their lack of awareness of the issue. Soon it became clear that the Imam had woken up in the middle of the night to recite the optional night prayer and while passing across the room on his way to performing ablutions, had noticed that the weather had cooled and so had shut the windows and covered the members of the entourage with blankets.
