Imam attached significance to self-esteem, dignity

Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic used to attach great significance to self-esteem and dignity.

The world religious and spiritual leader never compromised over the divine and human values for the sake of materialism or money issues.


Ayatollah Seyyed Abbas Khatam Yazdi recalls that several people used to consult for paying their religious dues to senior clerics so those dues could be spent for the needs of poor and needy people.


The great Imam used to recommend the clerics that they shouldn’t adopt a criterion of giving importance to certain individuals who pay more religious funding or dues, he adds.  


Imam never allowed that a single penny of religious and charity funds to be used for personal gains.


The great leader has had never pursued material ambitions, inspirations and motives.


Relatives and friends say that Imam Khomeini had some pieces of agricultural and residential pieces of land which he had inherited by his ancestors. 


However, the great spiritual leader had distributed these lands among needy farmers and poor residents. 


The great figure of the history distributed all his inheritance among the local farmers and laborers.


He also opted to live at the edge of the holy city of Qom among deprived classes of people while he was teaching at the Islamic seminaries.


Several pundits believe that Imam Khomeini the founder of the Islamic Republic truly exemplified the true and genuine teachings of the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors in his lifestyle.
