Hassan Khomeini highlights significance of research-oriented education

The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic has highlighted significance of research-oriented education.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini made remarks during a meeting with teachers, academic, senior officials from education ministry.


Hassan Khomeini also put emphasis on promoting high-quality of education which is based on research, queries and active participation of students. 


He said that teachers or lecturers shouldn’t become single speakers in class rooms at schools, universities and seminaries. Hassan Khomeini highlighted the need for students to actively part in the lessons and curriculum.


The grandson of the founder of the Islamic Republic recalled that Imam Khomeini, the world religious and spiritual leader always used to encourage the seminary students to actively participate in lessons in form of answers and questions. 


Seyyed Hassan Khomeini also recalled that Imam once mentioned that when the seminary used to record and wrote lessons of Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul-Karim Ha'eri Yazdi and took the final draft of notes to him for the verification.  Haeri, the Imam’s teacher used to ask the students, “I also expect you add any comment to the lessons or criticize my opinion.”


Imam Khomeini wanted the education system to become progressive and can fulfill all social, scientific and moral needs. 


The guidance by the great Imam and utmost efforts by the Iranian experts bore fruit and ranking of the Iranian school education, universities and its research institutes were raised among the world best recognized system years after the victory of Islamic Revolution.
