On the last Friday of His Holiness the Imam’s life when his warm breath still provided security to the Muslim nation, Mr. Hashemi (Rafsanjani) paid a visit to the Imam at around half past ten in the morning. The Imam’s condition appeared to be satisfactory and radiated the light of hope on the hearts and souls. Upon his arrival, Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani offered his greetings and asked the Imam about his health. Thereafter, he said that he was on his way to the Friday Prayer sermons and if the Imam had any advice or instructions, he would be pleased to hear it. The Imam stated: “Convey my salaam to the nation and request the people to pray for me and to implore God Almighty to receive me.” The Imam emphasized to him that he should not fail to deliver this message in the course of the Friday Prayer sermons. On Saturday, Ayatollah Khamenei (current leader of the Islamic Revolution) also paid a visit to the Imam and said: “Aqa (Sir) may God grant you good health” to which the Imam responded: “You pray to God that He favours me with a good destiny; that He receives me and takes me away.”
