Iran to hold summit on Imam Khomeini‘s Quranic views

A special meeting has been held to explore ways to enhance the upcoming scheduled summit on Imam Khomeini and Quran.

The 13th meeting was attended by senior officials from the ministry of education, ministry of cultural affairs, Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the organization for proximity of religions, AhlulBayt World Assembly, organization for proximity of religions and the institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works. 


The senior officials from some organizations also expressed readiness to invite several foreign scholar and academics at the summit which is scheduled in late October. 


The academics attended the meeting suggested that the Quranic comprehension and views by the founder of the Islamic Republic could be included in the school and university curriculum. 


Imam’s deep love for Quran and his intellectual works with regard to the Quranic interpretations still to large extent are unknown even for his devotees and followers.  


A large number of youths and the young generation may do know that imam has left a much enriched Quranic legacy and have written numerous precious and valuable works in this field.


The great figure of contemporary history has also displayed initiatives and valuable views on Quranic exegesis and interpretation.   


In order to make the young generation familiarize with Imam Khomeini’s Quranic thought, Quran and the household directorate of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs with close coordination of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s Works plan to organize a summit titled ‘The International Congress of Imam Khomeini and Quran’ which will be held in coming  late October with presentation of national and international scholars in the capital Tehran and the holy city of Qom. 


It is expected the summit would be able to some extent fulfill its duty of making the world familiar with the Quranic views and thought of the great founder of the Islamic Republic. 


A large number of researchers are expected to take part summit by sending articles and constructive suggestions.


The latest reports indicate that the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has selected 50 best articles among 600 sent to the secretariat.


It is noteworthy that Imam Khomeini’s academic legacy is becoming increasingly popular among various parts of the world in recent years.
