Hossein Bana, a prominent pupil of the Nigerian leader Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky, said in an interview that some elements with Nigerian administration are scared of expansion of Shia and thought of Imam Khomeini.
Bana also added that the Islamic awakening across Nigeria has expanded in recent years due to Imam's thought, ideals and works.
The Shia Muslims hold religious gatherings on regular basis and organize rallies on several Islamic occasions such as the International Quds day, the seminary student noted.
Bana also went onto say that the religious gatherings and rallies have been brutally attacked by Nigerian army over the past months.
The student also accused some elements within Nigerian administration of colluding with Nigerian militant groups such as Boko Haram.
The remarks come as Nigerian government has come under strong criticisms from international human rights groups and activists for recent attacks on Shia Muslims and violating religious and social freedoms, including attacks on peaceful Shia gatherings.
Several International organizations have also urged the Nigerian government to launch a credible and transparent probe.
This is while Takfiri Boko Haram militants have also targeted Shia Muslims and have claimed responsibility for several attacks on the community.
