Imam Khomeini holy shrine hosts Nowruz exhibition

A cultural exhibition has been organized at the holy mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic during Nowruz which marks advent of the Persian year.


The exhibition titled “The Scent of Jasmine” was inaugurated on on Sunday, March 20th, the same day the Persian New Year kicked off.


Several cultural and sports stalls, and spaces for art activities and religious queries have been set up across the premises of the holy shrine, which is located on the outskirts of the Iranian capital Tehran.


The event is expected to be visited by a large number of pilgrims and tourists who visit the shrine from across Iran and other parts of the world during this period of great significance.


Imam Khomeini’s shrine have been become a beacon of cultural, social, spiritual and religious gatherings in recent years. The holy site continues to attract thousands of devotees, intellectuals, academics, pilgrims, tourists, people from various walks of life from Iran and across the various parts of the globe.


The latest event and exhibition at the holy shrine comes as as millions of people in Iran and several other countries are celebrating the Persian New Year or Nowruz. The festivities always begin on the first day of spring, which has fallen on March 20 this year.


Imam Khomeini revived the spiritual and religious perspectives of Nowruz. He used to recite Quran and supplications narrated by the holy prophet of Islam and his infallible successors during the rebirth period of nature.


Imam also recommended the people to set excellent patterns by promoting divine values and assisting the oppressed and needy people during the time of festivities.
