He also called on the international community to cooperate in the fight against terrorism.

“Terrorism and extremism pose a serious danger to regional nations and are a threat to global peace and security,” the spokesman said on Wednesday, adding, "The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations as regards an all-out confrontation with this ominous and inhuman phenomena."

Multiple explosions targeted bus stations, hospitals and other civilian sites in the Syrian coastal cities on Monday, claiming lives of at least 154 civilians.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the official also offered Iran’s condolences to the Syrian nation and government and the bereaved families of the victims.

The Takfiri militant group Daesh claimed responsibility for the deadly bombings.

Rights groups have documented numerous cases of such bombings and attacks against civilian targets by Daesh, which is controlling parts of Syria and neighboring Iraq.

It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic through his speeches and messages strongly condemned all types of terrorism.

Imam believed that terrorist groups are targeting the unity of Muslim countries and nations, and were playing into hands of colonial and exploiting powers.

Following footsteps of the founder of the Islamic Republic, senior Iranian officials have extended help to neighboring countries and the international community in the fight against war on terror.
