Iranian president holds meetings with world leaders

Iran’s president has met several world leaders in New York on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.

President Rouhani has held a series of meetings with the Italian Premier Matteo Renzi, British Prime Minister Theresa May, French President Francois Hollande and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.


The Iranian president held talks with head of states on various issues.


President Rouhani and his accompanying delegation earlier met some religious leaders from around the world.


Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has also held a few meetings with senior officials present in the event. Zarif met his Canadian counterpart Stéphane Dion on Tuesday evening.


President Rouhan is scheduled to meet with a number of political and economic elites.


Iran’s president in New York to attend the seventy-first session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters. He is due to deliver his speech at the assembly on Thursday.


It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, during his speeches and messages used to highlight the need for maintaining amicable ties with all world nations.
