Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Qassemi, expressed hope that all parties engaged in the conflict, particularly the Saudi-led coalition, would respect the truce.
The Iranian spokesperson also pointed out that Yemen has been suffering from a very deplorable humanitarian situation.
The United Nations special envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, has said that the truce would take effect at 23:59 local time on Wednesday.
The UN envoy noted that assurances had been received from all Yemeni parties engaged in the conflict, and that the given time period was subject to renewal.
The Riyadh regime has a long record of truce violations during it’s ongoing military campaign against its impoverished Arab neighbor.
The Saudi military aggression, which started in March 2015, has claimed lives of at least 10,100 Yemeni people.
