Answer: A brief answer to this question is that, when a nation becomes the source of power, the more powerful is the leader, the more democratic is the system.

That is to say when public participation increases in all affairs of a country, the leader emerges more powerful than ever, but when it goes under the control of aliens, or the military and security forces intervene, dictatorship finds its way to the political scene.

There are many examples of the movements which benefited from a powerful leader backed by people in all aspects such as protests and demonstrations in India under the wise leadership of Mahatma Gandhi for independence from Great Britain, Islamic Revolution of Iran succeeded by the powerful leadership of Imam Khomeini, and African anti-apartheid movement which brought them freedom and independence as a result of sacrifices made by their lovely leader, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.
