Religious communities hail divine personality of Imam Khomeini, mark revolution anniversary

Members of religious communities mark the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and hold ceremonies to highlight the various perspectives of divine personality of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

Several ceremonies by Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians and followers of other religions have been organized to marks the 39the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. 


The ceremonies are being attended by leaders and members of minority groups as Iranians across the country mark the 39th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution 


The festivities will culminate in nationwide rallies on February 11 this year, the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. 


 During the ceremonies, they pledged allegiance to ideals of thought of Imam Khomeini, who supported all followers of divine religions and oppressed nations. 


Following the emergence of the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini, the religious minorities and followers of all divine religions were granted with broader freedoms, liberties and rights. 


The late founder of the Islamic Republic on several occasions recommended the relevant authorities to guard rights of all religious and ethnic groups living in various parts of the country.


Imam Khomeini revived divine, religious and spiritual values at sensitive juncture of history when the world had been plunged into social and moral decline. 


Imam also undertook serious efforts to revive rights of oppressed people across the globe and attempted to unite them under a united monotheism banner.  


By toppling the Pahlavi regime 39 years ago, the Iranian nation ended 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country. 


The Islamic Revolution established a new political system; a republic based on Islamic values and democracy.


The minorities had fully supported the struggle for the Islamic Revolution against the former regime of Shah, and fully supported Imam Khomeini’s efforts to establish Islamic-democratic system in Iran.


The leaders and members of minorities had fully supported the struggle for the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini. 


Members of minorities also defended the nation’s sovereignty and defended the country by rendering sacrifices during the imposed war launched by the then Iraqi dictator Saddam against Iran.


Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution,  deemed mutual understanding among followers of major monotheistic religions as a vial factor for mankind progress.
