Waves of Islamic Awakening in the Middle East and North Africa and power of Muslims are originated from Imam Khomeini movement, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General said on Sunday.
Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remarks at the opening ceremony of The 5th International Conference of Ahlul Bait World Assembly in Tehran.
The late Imam Khomeini was an Iranian religious leader and politician, and leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution which toppled Pahlavi regime.
“The Islamic Revolution of Iran is moving forward powerfully under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The Islamic Republic of Iran serves as a good model of Islamic governance for the entire world,” he said.
Referring to the rise of Islamic movements against Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories around the world including Hezbollah movement on neighborhood of Tel Aviv, he noted that victory will be with the Muslims.
“Secularism is one of the major threats against the progressive Islam,” he added.
The 5th International Conference of Ahlul Bait World Assembly kicked off in Tehran by a lecture from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The four-day event is attended by over 600 foreign and 400 Iranian guests including a number of Muslim scholars and political and scientific figures from around the world.
