According to Iqna News agency, the Iranian embassy in South Africa, which is connected to the Islamic cultural and relations department, undertook the responsibility of translating the books ‘Jihad-e-Akbar’ by Imam Khomeini and ‘Asrar al-Salaat’ by Ayatollah Khamenei into Sutu and publishing them. They did this in order to inform the people of South Africa of true Islam and the teachings and ideals of the leader of the revolution and the Supreme Leader.

Imam Khomeini’s book consists of 69 pages and Ayatollah Khamenei’s book consists of 50 pages.  One thousand copies of these books were translated to Sutu by al-Hajj Solayman Salabi, who is an African Shia. Sutu is a language spoken by 12 million people in Africa.

The books were advertised at a ceremony where the translator was thanked and honoured. The ceremony coincided with the 30th of March, which is the Iranian Revolution Day, which represents the day the people of Iran voted for an Islamic revolution 33 years ago. This ceremony was held in the presence of a number of foreign diplomats and intellectuals.
