Ayatollah Sayyid Noor Mofidi and Unity:
''The late Imam always insisted on the issue of unity among the Muslim people''
Ayatollah Sayyid Noor Mofidi, who is the Supreme Leader’s representative in Golestan and the leader of the Friday congregational prayers in Gorgan, talked of Imam Khomeini’s insistence on the unity of Muslims and its importance. He also talked of the Supreme Leader’s help in guiding Muslims towards unity and in neutralizing the plots of the enemies of Islam.

The leader of the Friday congregational prayers in Gorgan, talked of the Imam’s insistence on the unity of the Muslims, and said: “By starting the great Islamic movement, the Imam prepared the grounds for the freedom of Islamic countries from the claws of the arrogant powers (i.e. Western powers).”
Mofidi, who is the Supreme Leader’s representative in Golestan, said the following in his meeting with the head of the Islamic centre of the northern part of the country: “It is possible to successfully carry out a system of progress with the help and will of all the groups of society and by using the abilities of the country and the region.”
In the Assembly of the Supreme Leader’s experts or Majlis-e-Khobrigaan, Mofidi said that Golestan was a great example of unity in the country and added: “Unity between the Shia and Sunnis has always been the same from the beginning of the revolution. After 32 years, the unparalleled unity in this region still exists…The enemies of Islam today are using everything they have in their power to destroy pure Islam and in order to fight this, unity is needed among the Muslim people.”
Mofidi further added: “The Imam prepared the grounds from the freedom of Islamic countries from the claws of the arrogant powers by starting the great Islamic movement.” Mofidi also stated that the Supreme Leader is the flag bearer of unity among the Muslim people and added: “His guidance regarding the unity of Muslims has always been influential and helpful and has neutralized many plots the enemies of Islam have had.”
Ayatollah Noori Mofidi maintained that what can affect our progress is the strengthening of our unity, and said: “This progress can be achieved by carrying out what the holy verses of the Qur’an tell us, and that is to have faith and do good.” He also talked of the fact that the Sunnis and Shias in this province live a calm and peaceful life, and continued to say: “The enemies of Islam are frightened of the unity Muslims have and aim to cause differences and disputes among them.”
