Syria’s Grand Mufti:
''Imam Khomeini leaded the Islamic revolution of Iran with his fate.''
In the Islamic awakening all the Muslim, Shia or Sunni, have stepped in, and by chanting “Allah-u-Akbar” (Allah is great) and without prejudice shouted for their rightful demands.

The 25th international Islamic Unity conference titled “Performance evaluation for 20 years of the Forum for Proximity” and “Islamic Awakening” was held by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought from Feb 8-10, in Tehran’s Azadi hotel. At the opening ceremony which was held by several speeches by political and religious figures. “Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun”, Grand Mufti of Syria which was among the speakers of this ceremony by mentioning the coincidence of Prophet Mohammad and Imam Sadiq’s birth in these days, said: “The prophet gathered people from different tribes under Islam’s flag and stressed that the measure for differing people is their piety, an issue which has been mentioned in 13th verse of the Hujarat surah in Quran.”
According to a report by Jamaran news agency, Syria’s Grand Mufti also stated: “Prophet Mohammad and Imam Sadiq’s birth has coincided, an Imam that was the succeeder of his ancestor, the prophet of God, and who has trained a lot of pupils among Shias and Sunnis and “Abu Hanifa” and “Imam Al-Shafi’i” who are among the greatest figures of Sunnis were his pupils.”
Hassoun also by mentioning that today the sun of Islam is lighting all the world, stressed on trying to keep the Islamic unity and said: “Before we are Shia or Sunni, we are all Muslims and we should strengthen our unity and integrity.”
He also said: “Today, the enemies are provoking Muslims and other public opinions in the world against Iran, because this country hasn’t been along with them and is walking toward serving the poor.”
The Grand Mufti of Syria also stressed: “Iran is a developed country which has done a lot of activities in the fields of science and technology, the peaceful nuclear programs of this country is also notable; programs which are trying to help mankind and Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme leader of Iran, have also emphasized this issue by approving that the goal of scientific development is serving the world and not anti-human activities.”
Hassoun said: “Imam Khomeini leaded the Islamic revolution of Iran with his fate and spirituality and made it victorious and so this revolution was a surprise for the enemies.”
The Grand Mufti of Syria also mentioned the awakening of the nations and said: “In the Islamic awakening all the Muslim, Shia or Sunni, have stepped in, and by chanting “Allah-u-Akbar” (Allah is great) and without prejudice shouted for their rightful demands.”
At the end he added: “Meanwhile the enemies haven’t been idle, and they’re trying to bring division in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain and other countries, somehow that a man would kill his own brother so they could proceed their goals, and use the Islamic awakening for their own benefits.”
