Tehran’s Mayor: “At a time that Iran had no identity in the world, Imam Khomeini appeared and revived Islam throughout the world.”

According to a report by the Imam Khomeini’s Commemoration News Committee, Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf, while being at Imam’s mausoleum said: “We thanks God that once more, at this period, we are gathered together besides the shrine of Imam and the graves of our Martyrs and with the grandson of Imam we renew our allegiance with the aspirations of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He added: “We thank God for his greatest gift. The gift of living in this era so we could understand Islam through the view of Imam Khomeini, a dynamic, active and anti-oppression Islam. An Islam which united the people in a time that materialism, Westernization and interests to Eastern powers was controlling the world.”
At the end Ghalibaf said: “At a time that Iran had no identity in the world, Imam Khomeini appeared and revived Islam and the Muslims throughout the world.”
