In the house of the Holy Prophet, which presented the best image of both the worlds - the heaven and the earth – Imam Hussein (PBUH) was born on one of the nights of the month of Shaban(3rd Shaban).
His father was Imam Ali(PBUH), the best model of kindness towards his friends and the bravest against the enemies of Islam, and his mother was Hazrat Fatimah (PBUH), the only daughter and child of the Holy prophet who had as universally acknowledged, inherited the qualities of her father. Imam Hasan and Hussein (peace be upon them), the two sons of the Holy Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib and Hazrat Fatimah (peace be upon them) were respected and revered as the ‘Leaders of the Youths of Paradise’ as stated by the Holy Prophet.
Later years, Imam Hussein offered great sacrifices to rescue Islam from any distorting elements and promoted it in its origin and genuine form as promoted by the holy prophet of Islam.
According to the great Imam Khomeini, matchless sacrifice of the Household of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his Companions shook the pillars of tyrant rulers. Imam Khomeini made clear that there should be no thought of defeat in the performance of divine duty. He further confirms that the principle of victory and defeat is not entirely linked to a military triumph, but in fact that the work is in accordance with the divine standards and falls under the legal mandate. The great Imam says:
