The late Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini once said during the Imam's lifetime that his father never created an obstacle on the way to his progress or did not ban him from taking part in sports.
Seyyed Ahmad was a good football player and sometime he had his hand or arm fractured,
Imam never blocked him from taking part in games and believed that exercise was necessary to stay healthy and maintain physical fitness.
“Imam would leave us free to choose our activities; for example, I was very interested in football and broke my arms several times because of it, which still has its scars.”
Imam had no problem with his son playing football and thought it necessary for physical fitness.
