The remarks were made by academic figures and dignitaries who spoke at a recently-held gathering in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi.

More than two decades have passed but he and his ideas still shape the hearts of revolutionaries across the world.

Imam Khomeini, a charismatic leader of the 20th century not only inspires Iranians but his revolutionary ideas go deep into the hearts and minds of people across the globe.

And that's why gatherings like this are held here showing love and respect for Imam Khomeini Both Sunni and Shia Scholars stressed the need for unity among Muslims, which was one of the lessons from Imam Khomeni's teachings.

Speakers at the rally also focused on the Identity of the Muslim Ummah which has been distorted and tarnished by certain enemies of Islam like Takfiri groups and discussed the Islamic identity as presented by Ayatollah Khomeini, the world religious and spiritual leader.

Imam Khomeini is the late founder of Islamic Republic of Iran who led the 1979 Islamic revolution. He is widely respected among Sunis and Shia for his teachings and views on freedom and unity.
