Abul Jaish, the Palestainian envoy made remarks at an international seminar organized by the Iranian cultural house in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania's largest and richest city.

The Palestinian ambassador said the initiative highlights great wisdom by Imam Khomeini to highlight Israeli crimes against the oppressed nation of Palestine.

The seminar was attended by the Iranian ambassador, cultural, academic and intellectual figures from Tanzania and Iran, and other personality from various parts of the world.

The speakers and orators also recommended that this year’s Quds Day should be marked with great participation around the globe due to ongoing Israeli aggression against the people of Gaza Strip.

The latest developments come as there is no let up in Israel’s deadly attacks against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. At least 40 people have lost their lives in the impoverished territory over the past twenty four hours.

Israel continues to pound the Gaza Strip for the eighth straight day.

The overall death toll from seven days of Israeli attacks on the coastal enclave has risen to 190. The Israeli military began its latest assault on Gaza last Tuesday.

More than 1,300 Palestinians have been also injured as a result of the ongoing assaults.

Gaza has been blockaded since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standards of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
