Imam Khomeini’s historic interview with American journal

Imam Khomeini once said in a historic interview that the United States must avoid meddling in Iran’s internal affairs.

Imam Khomeini made remarks during an interview with a reporter from America magazine “News World Report” on November 10, 1978 just some months before the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Responding to a question by the journalist, Imam said that Washington must respect Iranian nation’s independence, sovereignty, interests and refrain from interference in internal affairs.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Imam noted that the US continues to support puppet regime of Shah in order to have access to military bases and plunder the natural Iranian resources.

Imam also made clear that the Islamic-democratic government under his wise leadership doesn’t need any US weapons which are of no use for the poor and oppressed class of the country.

The victory of the Islamic Revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini put Iran on the track of progress, and won independence, sovereignty and prosperity for the nation.

The revolution also defended the rights of the Islamic and developing countries and strengthened the oppressed nations across the globe.

Imam Khomeini confronted aggressive policies of colonial powers at a very sensitive juncture of history when the world had been divided into two blocs.
