The arrest of Imam Khomeini’s son did not cause a change in the Imam’s lecture program

He engaged in theological discussions more profoundly and extensively than on other days.

Important events and incidents never caused Imam Khomeini either to cancel his seminary-related programs and his lecture sessions on Islamic jurisprudence or to continue with his programs in a lackluster and listless manner.

It occurred on many occasions that due to various political incidents I and many other students of his subjects would either not attend the Imam’s lectures (on those days) or would attend the sessions with feeling of concern and lack of interest.

However, in those very sensitive moments when the biggest political events in his life was unfolding, the Imam would continue with his teaching unperturbed and analyze and dissect problems of Islamic jurisprudence in such a manner as if nothing was happening.

In particular, on the day his eldest son the late Hajj Aqa Mustafa was arrested by the Baathist regime’s (of Iraq) secret police and transferred to Baghdad, not only did this incident not bring about the least change in the Imam’s program, rather, I can say without doubt that on that day he engaged in theological discussions more profoundly and extensively than on other (normal) days.
