An interview with Sayyid Ali Naqi from Pakistan, Ph.D. in geography

-          How did you become familiar with Imam Khomeini's thought?

I am part of Shi'a community in Pakistan. We love Iranian community as well, because they are Shi'a. And I think after the revolution it is the duty of all Muslims to spread the message of Imam Khomeini and follow him in all aspects, but Wahhabis don't want the message of Islamic revolution and Imam Khomeini’s teachings be promoted. I have visited Iran three times by now but this time, I just come to become more familiar with Imam Khomeini and receive his message.

 -          In your opinion how and in what way we can safeguard Islamic awakening from the decline?

You have invited people from across the globe to Tehran to attend this ceremony. It provides a good opportunity to promote the real teachings of Islam and the thought Imam fostered and developed in his mind.

 -          What is the role of Islamic scholars in Islamic awakening and preserving its ideals?

The religious scholars must be aware of the enemies’ plots to diminish the power of Muslim Ummah. They are the leading figures and structure the framework of Muslim community.

After the ceremony they have the duty to promote the Imam’ thought as the basis and origin of this awakening.

 -          In your idea to what extent the present awakening has been inspired by the thought of Imam?

Islamic awakening takes root from the thought and ideology of Imam Khomeini. It is now expanding nearly to the whole world. The revolutions and uprisings led by the Muslims are in fact a manifestation of Imam’s believes and ideals.
