Imam Emphasized on Revival of Prophets’ Mission on Eid al-Adha

Imam Khomeini the great spiritual and religious leader of the world emphasized that monotheistic values and missions of divine prophets must be manifested and revived during this Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha.

According to the Imam, Eid al-Adha (the feast of the sacrifice) is the manifestation of monotheism and a symbol of Islamic solidarity in Hajj days.

Regarding the feast of sacrifice, the founder of the Islamic Republic, the one who revived the pure Islam says, “Eid al-Adha (the feast of the sacrifice) is a day which causes the aware humans to remember the Ibrahimi altar (place of sacrifice), the altar which gives the children of Adam and saints the lesson of devotion and struggle in God`s way.”

The great intellectual and scholar of the Muslim world advised the masses and elite to learn lessons about sacrifices offered by the divine prophets on this day of great significance.

Imam also used to put special emphasis on understanding the real philosophy behind celebrating the days of Eid and Hajj which are reminder of divine dignity and grandeurs.

These days are signs of God and should be respected. The great Imam used to underscore these occasions for discussing and resolving problems and issues facing the Muslim world.

Imam also regularly used to release special messages for the head of the Muslim states and masses on these auspicious occasions.

The great leader also used the season of Eid of feast and Hajj to foster unity and mutual understanding among the Muslim society.

Eid of feast conveys us a message that the believers must always be ready to sacrifice their precious objects and possessions for the cause of Islam.

We bring one of Imam’s messages in this regard as follows:

“I extend my congratulation to the Iranian nation and the Muslims of the world on the feast of Qurban which is one of the biggest feasts in Islam and- the tryst of the great prophets from Ibraham to Muhammad (s) - the founders of monotheism and justice and the leaders of the right path of servitude to God. I implore the Exalted God to wake up the Muslims of the world in order to set up the tradition of the great prophets; mobilize them to attain the goal of the prophets, who sacrificed their sons and beloved ones for it so as to hoist the banner of monotheism all over the world and to severe the hands of the superpowers from the Islamic and oppressed countries,” Imam Khomeini said on this occasion.”
