Mr. Bourhane Hamidou, the Speaker of the Comoros National Assembly, paid a visit to Jamaran art and cultural complex on Saturday Februry 22 and praised the personality of Imam Khomeini the great founder of Islamic Republic and Spiritual leader of Muslim world. Our website representative has conducted an interview with Mr. Hamidou during his visit to Imam Khomeini's house in Jamaran. We bring the abstract of this interview to our audiences as following:
How did you come to know about Imam Khomeini for the first time?
It was during the course of Islamic Revolution that I knew about Imam Khomeini by listening to his speeches and watching him on the television. Later, however, I visited Imam's house in Jamaran and became more familiar with this great personality.
Are the ideas of Imam Khomeini in accordance with the recent conditions of the Islamic nations?
As you know we live in a world of different ideas, but what ideology we should follow…Imam established an Islamic-democratic system and brought Iranian nation independence and authority by the Islamic Revolution.
If Muslim governments are united together they can better defend the rights of oppressed nations across the world and implement Imam's ideals and his desired democracy.
After the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini had a message that he would defend the rights of every oppressed nations and people apart from their religion, color and race. How do you see it?
Imam was a true follower of Islam; what he fostered in his mind was in accordance with pure teachings of Islam and Quran promoted by the holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh). The Iranian revolution led by him was a manifestation of divine blessings, and functioned as a model for most of the recent ongoing developments we see in the region and across the globe.
Imam was also a real patron and supporter of the oppressed nations apart from their religion, color and race as you said. We should, therefore, follow the way of him which is the same way and manner as adopted by the holy prophet of Islam and other divine prophets.
Could you please describe Imam Khomeini in one sentence?
He is the one who brought Iranian nation an Islamic-democratic system and let them be master of their own destiny.
