Sheikh Moro talks of the simple life Imam Khomeini led

Abd al-Fattah Moro, who is a Tunisian intellectual, lawyer and politician, and who is one of the prominent figures of the Tunisian uprising, visited Imam Khomeini in France and witnessed the simple life the Imam led.

Abd al-Fattah Moro, who is a Tunisian intellectual, lawyer and politician, and who is one of the prominent figures of the Tunisian uprising, said that he had only visited Iran once and that was before the Islamic revolution.

He also added that, the dictatorship of Zein al-Aabideen bin Ali imposed a travel ban on him and confiscated his passport. It was for this reason that he was unable to travel to Iran. However he insisted that he plans to visit Iran in the future.

Sheikh Moro also talked of the time when he travelled to France to see Imam Khomeini and said: “The Imam offered me lentil soup when I visited him. The founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran truly lived a simple life.”

Sheikh Moro’s house was what one calls a museum. There were many souvenirs, which he had collected from all over the world, and which were found in different corners of his house.

The Sheikh insisted that the people of Tunisia love the household of the holy Prophet (saw). He also stated that the names Ali, Hassan, Hussein, Fatima and Zainab, were common names in Tunisia.
