Imam Khomeini’s thoughts led to the awakening of the people of Tunisia

Abdul Jaleel Salim, who is the head of the Alzaytoonah University of Tunisia, had a meeting with Ali Reza I’rafi, who is the head of Jami’at Al-Mustafa. Salim talked of the influence of the Imam’s views on the people of Tunisia and said that the University was interested in expanding its relations with Qom.

Abdul Jaleel Salim, who is the head of the Alzaytoonah University of Tunisia, had a meeting with Ali Reza I’rafi, who is the head of Jami’at Al-Mustafa. In this meeting Salim said: “Tunisia is an Islamic country and will try to instill God’s laws in this country. However there are some who are trying to make sure that this does not happen.”

Salim further added: “The Alzaytoonah University offers many different courses and has great credibility in Tunisia….The people of Tunisia have asked us to introduce many Muftis to them, and this shows the status and place we have in the eyes of the people…The Alzaytoonah University played an active role in the Islamic movements in Tunisia and is now trying to guide the revolution.”

Salim also said: “In our university we pay special attention to the books of great Iranian intellectuals such as Imam Khomeini, Motahhari and Shari’ati… Imam Khomeini’s views helped awaken the people of Tunisia and helped them see that the arrogant powers of the world, such as America, are their enemies and the enemies of Islam. Thus they turned to Islamic awakening.”

Salim also stated: “Qom is a scholarly and Islamic city, which has educated great personalities such as Imam Khomeini (as). We are interested in working with Qom’s scholarly centers, and particularly with Jami’at Al-Mustafa.
