Sheikh Hassan Baghdadi, a member of Hizbollah’s central council in an interview with Jamaran news agency, mentioned that the purpose of uniting the Muslims, at first is preservation of the land, wealth and benefits of the Muslims and said: “We should strengthen our unity especially against the big challenge which the world imperialism has made for hurting the Muslims and unity is the secret of the Muslim’s victory against the international imperialism.”
He also mentioned the unity that Imam had in his mind: “There is no doubt that Imam Khomeini was among the first ones who preached the Muslims to Islamic unity. Usually when some persons preach the Muslims to unity they had specific tittles but Imam was a complete form of them all and he preached to unity for Islam its own and the Muslims and he didn’t discriminated between them. Imam Khomeini looked to unity as a matter which would bring justice to mankind and he used to say that the Islamic republic’s invitation to unity is a new call for all mankind.”
He said: “Imam Khomeini’s invitation was in the continuance of the prophets’ invitations. Especially that Imam Khomeini was the holder of the flag in the Palestine issue which is the most important and the first issue for all Muslims today.”
