The conference of “Imam Khomeini’s Movement” held to review roots of the Islamic Revolution

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the conception of Imam Khomeini Movement, the first session of 'Rereading the Roots of Islamic Revolution' was held at the National Library.

Reported by IBNA News Agency, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the conception of Imam Khomeini Movement, director of Iran and Islam Studies of the National Library and Archives of Iran said: "The first session was held on Saturday, October 20, with the presence of Dr. Mohammad-Hassan Rajabi historian and researcher of contemporary history of Iran and Es'haq Salahi director of the National Library.


"Mohammad Javad Moradi Nia added:" The session was held at 10 a.m. with the speech of Dr Mohammad-Hassan Rajabi on the causes and processes of clergymen and monarchy encounter in 1963."

He went on to say that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Imam Khomeini's resistance movement, monthly sessions will be held at this center on the roots and causes of the Islamic Revolution until November 2013.

These sessions will be held in order to make a thorough survey and rereading of the history of Islamic Revolution, and events and incidents that led to the resistance of clergymen against the monarchy during the Pahlavi reign in the 1960's, he added.

Moradi Nia also remarked that the Pahlavi reforming measures, opposition of the clergymen against the new regulations and the resignation of the government, the White Revolution and the reasons for oppositions, and the role of foreign powers in directing and policy makings of Pahlavi regime are some of the main topics to be discussed during these sessions.
