The Particularities of Iran's Islamic Revolution

Iran's Islamic Revolution that attained victory in 1357 H.Sh. (1979 H.D.) led by Hazrate Imam in view of most of the thinkers and leading scholars and especial its main architect has basic particularities which separate it from other revolutions and below we refer to the most important ones:

Religious inclination
One of the most important features of Iranian people revolution is its being existed around God. We read considering the 56th principle of the Islamic Republic constitution. The absolute sovereignty of the world and on Man is with God and He has made Him sovereign with respect to his social destiny.
In the will of the founder of the Islamic Revolution it has been said about this that: ‘we know the this big Revolution that cut off the hands of world-mongers and oppressors from the big Iran attained victory with God's affirmations. If there was not the able hand of God it would have been impossible that a population of 36 million people with those anti-Islamic and anti-Ulmas propagandas particularly in the past recent hundred years … could rise up in unity and across the country with a common ideal cry out. Allaho Akbar—God, the Almighty is great-- and miraculous and amazing sacrifices which pushed asides all the domestic and foreign powers … undoubtedly this was a present from God and a hidden gift which came from the great one for this oppressed and plundered people.’(sahife ye- Imam, Vol. 21, P.401)

The Revolution's popular basis
In order revolution a popular basis is also seen but in Iran's Islamic Revolution it is marked much in this Revolution most of the people came to the scene and asked for the downing of king's regime and establishment of an Islamic system. Military personals, workers, civil servants, peasants, Ulmas, university students and teachers were all participants of this Revolution. This side of the people based as pact of the revolution is very stack. In most other revolutions the main straggle element were forced forming the party and para-militaristic which finished the job by their armed fighter and mostly the role of the people was to support them. But in our revolution all the people played a role and through out the country they struggled against the Pahlavi regime in a powerful manner and forcefully.

The leadership and the reference point
One of the important features of the Islamic Revolution of Iran which springs from the Godly-based particularity of it is the role at religion, Ulmas and the leadership and guidance of it. All other revolution were in a way face-to-face with religion but this one began with the guidance and leadership of Ulmas and succeeded.
At the top of these great ones was Imam Khomeini which held the highest religious status meaning was the reference figure. His leadership had distinguished features which we here introduce some of them.
1- Imam who was the reference figure had a vast and deep basis among the people.
2- With founding the 15th Khordad uprising and with unique management and bravery during this and his exile period proved his revolutionary and political leadership.
4- its was the designer of the Revolutions as well as its manager and practitioner.

 

Originality
The originality of Iran's Islamic Revolution has two dimensions: theoretical and practical. From a theoretical and mental dimension the goals and ideas of this revolution were not imported but were a product of the society and the country's history. Islam and Islamic values have been accepted by Iranians since one thousand and four hundred years ago and during this time it charged in to the main element of our nationality and culture. In the particular field also people's force and their avoiding getting financial and arms help from the west and east or their neighbors and with their leaning on God and the slogan the victory of blood on the sword.
Attained victory

The religious-Islamic feature of Iran's Revolution
one of the first terms of Iran's Revolution is Islam; and this is because of its ideology, essence basis and goals. The leader of this revolution has been a clergy and a religious reference figure its organizing took place through the thousand year old traditional organization of religious and scientific centers. The main basis of the people and its founders was the rule of Islam and Godly laws over their destiny and on exit from the world imperialism and domestic despotism domination. Yhus because of the main role of Islam in Iran's Revolution's circumstances this phenomenon has received an Islamic dimension.

The Revolution's Ashura-like basis
In the view of many scholars who have theorized about the factors contributing to the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution the religious factor is one of the most major and powerful factors which has played a crucial role in the appearing and victory of this. Also a review of the common political literature concerning the trend of the taking place of the Islamic revolution, slogans, speeches and the statements made by the movement's leaders show. This reality that among religious elements the Ashura culture and Imam Husain's movement has played on important role here. The culture up martyrdom constant struggle against evil, fight against lavishness, the principle of obedience from God's satisfaction and Muslims well-beings and the culture of public watch and guiding to righteousness and forbidding of unrighteousness is among the influential features of Ashura culture which was exacted on the revolution. various angles if the influence of Ashura-like culture can be found in the revolution's leadership's practice and attitude, the way of struggle and the seals of revolutionary individuals.

 

Strategic Slogans
The essence and ideology of every evolution shows up in a populistic and simple from in its slogans and slogan since a long time ago has been an instrument to several goals and has been a reevaluation of people's wants. Iranian people's main slogans which showed their wants has been summarized below using four basis axes:

1- Independence
undoubtedly the most basis of people's slogans in the struggle against the oppression of the Shah period was ???? independence. During the Shah's reign Iran acted as the region's gendarme for the we stand the U.S. the specialization law which was put forward by the government and was ratified by the house of national assembly of the time guaranteed the invulnerability of American advisors so that without any fear of or worries they would steal people's belongings and the public wealth. The Shah's regime's army too was completely in the hands of American generals and had no determination itself.
The biggest benefit of the Islamic Revolution for the people of Iran was independence. Hence the Islamic Republic's constitution in its various principles emphasized the country's independence markedly. Today one without any exaggeration can say that Iran most independent country in the world.

 

2- Freedom
Freedom has been among people's requests and has always been at the top of the goals of movement s that searched for independence and freedom in Iran in the past two centuries. The despotic and dictatorial Pahlavi regime creating a strangulating situation did not let the people of Iran have basis freedoms and instead jails were full of people who walked in the right path. Houses and governments that were introduced came and went one after an other and here what seemed unimportant was the law and the role of the people. The police rule which especially after the 28th Mordad 1332 (1953 A.D.) coup was formed with the guidance of Britain and the U.S. to wholly support the Shah's regime in Iran was ambitions in oppressing freedom and fighting against those who walked in the right path. In this situation Iranian people cried out freedom along with independence and the Islamic Republic.

 

3- The Islamic Republic
The martyr Ayatollah Motahari believed that the from of the rule is republic and the Islamic aspect shows the essence of how the country is run. The Islamic Republic with more than 98 percent vote of Iranian people supplanted the kingship regime. Imam Khomeini too announce that this day is a feast and in a message celebrating this said: “congratulations on you for this day which after the martyrdom of brave youths and the suffering of fathers and mothers and those that were hard to bear you defeated the giant and the pharaoh of the time and with your firm vote for the Islamic Republic you announced the rule of godly Justice. A rule according to which all the people are viewed the same and the light of godly Justice is thrown over everyone equally, and the compassionate raining of the Quarn and Sunnah folls on all in the same way.”(Sahfieh-ye Imam, vol. 6, p. 453)

4- Not East, Not West
The slogan of not East nor West expresses the rejection of foreigners domination over the country's domestics affairs. With the victory of the Islamic Revolution the strategy of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy which is subordinate to the policy of not East nor West is based on several principles, the rejection of any kind of accepting domination or instigating, protection of multi-sided independence and the country's land wholesomeness, defense of all the Muslims lights, non-alignment vis-à-vis domination-seeking powers, ???? peaceful relations with government that reject not, forbidding every convention that brings foreign domination and support if the struggle of the poor ??? their right against imperialists in every part of the world. It was in the light of reaching this policy which the dimensions of the struggle against imperialism got vaster in Iran and the cukture of fighting against foreigners and anti-imperialism was internalized.
