Imam Khomeini, a Champion of Eternal Unity among the Muslims

Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary general of Hezbollah, the Islamic resistance movement

When we talk or generate debate about Imam. Imam possessed very unique and distinctive characteristics. He was a great jurisprudent, a prominent mystic and a genius figure. He had great qualities and a great zeal for actions and functions. No doubt that Imam had played great role in determining the people's destiny, contemporary history and fate of humanity. However, beyond all these services he rendered to the humanity, I want to point to the two important matters.

First quality regarding Imam is that we can call him the leader of the Islamic Revolution, which means he was a massive leader of the public and the Islamic Revolution that gained victory in Iran and ultimately led to collapse of the despotic regime of Shah. The Shah regime was considered a gendarmerie of the US and a staunch ally of Israel.
The second characteristic we may point out is that he was the founder of the Islamic Republic Iran.

He was the leader of the Revolution which was being raised and led by himself. He bore burnt of the consequences as he accepted all threats to his life, family and property. Imam was attacked, arrested, exiled, suffered loss of his son and even he was about to be executed by the Shah regime. His students were put into prisons, exiled and executed. But he experienced and showed patience towards all these sufferings.
We recall to his historic and final travel from Paris to Tehran. The event became a symbol of bravery and determination in the human history and has been recorded with brilliant words. The enemies posed a great danger and there were great threats that the airplane Imam was traveling through could be targeted. But he went ahead with this historic travel despite all threats and dangers. He led the nations and revolution through all difficult times and tough circumstances.

The ideology, beliefs and building of an ideal system had played an important role in this all process. The existence of a government, Imam or a caliph was a natural need of societies as it has been outlined in the Islamic sources as well. The basic need to establish a government or system is beyond question. But what is important in this regard would be the nature and essence and quality of the system. Of course, establishing a system of government would necessitate availing past human experiences, teachings of divine religions and of thought of philosophical schools.
Establishing a government is considered evident to fulfill common needs of a society. However establishing a unique, distinctive and competent system would make a difference.
Imam started working on establishing a competent system with good governance following the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Imam, several of his efficient pupils, companions started discussing on drafts to constitute the structure of the system. Imam showed great competence and efficiency in this regard. Imam used to issue wise commands which were promoted by his pupils and widely accepted by the masses.
Imam had not spread the revolution through help of sword. The people used to widely welcome his commands and recommendations due to his spiritual influence. This depicts the dignity of the Islamic Revolution.

Imam was able to establish a unique government and reconciled between the tradition and modernization. This all depicted the dignity of the Islamic Revolution due to its association with public and masses. He established such system which could easily confront the supposed challenges and dangers and fulfilled the contemporary needs of humanity.
Imam Khomeini was a champion of unity, solidarity and close coordination among Muslims and oppressed ones. He also put emphasis on unity among the followers of divine and Abraham's religions. The great Imam had serious commitments towards this and no conspiracy could change his views in this regard.
