A Manifestation of Characteristics of Imam

Imam had some exclusive and distinctive qualities and characteristics which are less seen among other mystics. Of course, some other mystics had also possessed certain qualities; however, Imam could not find time to materialize some of these potentials. Each of the mystics are manifestation of the great and pure names of Allah. The mystics had compiled and written a lot of books in this regard and subject. Imam could not find enough time and opportunity to implement his all of potentials. But what makes Imam distinctive from all, is that he put the theories into real actions and has had a real experience of it.  

Imam had overcome the fears of death. If someone is fearless of death, then the other horrors or dangers would be minor and of no values for such a person.
Therefore, Imam used to say following the incident of 15th of Khordad: "these became scared but I felt no fears." If a human being overcome its low desires, and does not become obedient to lust, but instead of that follow the commands of God and inspired by divine affection and has fondness towards his friends, such a person would ultimately become fearless of death. The fear of death has become main obstacle in the path of people while carrying out their duties.

For instance, once I went to one of the great religious authority who was also one of my best teachers. He had opened certain pages of Bihar al-Anwar book (the occasion of lights, a sources book of Hadith by Allama Majlesi) and was busy in reading the discussions about Taqiyah (a principle which allows hiding your faith in state of fear). Such a scholar may even encourage for sacrifice and Jihad (a practical struggle for God Almighty) but still sticks to principle of Taqiyyah in his mind.  But the great Imam used to generate debate about divine struggle and practically used to stick this principal. That can be considered the art and skill of the great scholar.
