Basic Foundations and Pillars of Imam Khomeini's Dynamic Thought

A speech by the supreme leader on departure anniversary of Imam Khomeini

I mention some basic points which formed the pillars of the Islamic Republic and Imam Khomeini's dynamic thought and characterize the theoretical and practical lines of Imam's conduct regarding the governmental issues.
First: the most prominent quality of Imam was that he stood against meddling of foreign forces and never compromised with them.

Second: Imam was very committed to individual actions and obeying God the Almighty and resisted against whispers and temptations of the self and Satan. He used to take proper stance against the global Satan and arrogant powers and undertook self-combat against the low self-desires.

Third: Imam gave too much importance to the nations' strengths and potentials. Imam used to directly address and generate debates and dialogue with the nations. He believed that the nations can transform the ongoing circumstances across the world and could bring about real and endure changes.

Fourth: The great Imam insisted on establishing unity among the Muslims and confronted any desperate efforts by the global arrogance to create strife among them.

Fifth: He emphasized on creating friendly ties with all nations and governments. He severed relations with fewer governments due to some reasons. Imam made us learned that the Islamic Republic can maintain very cordial ties with all nations and international community.  However, he insisted that any ties with the United States must be abandoned; sine the US ruling system was arrogant, aggressive and cruel. The US has taken a hostile position and placed itself in a state of war against the Islamic Republic. He also prohibited the relations with the racial and apartheid regime of Israel. However, ties with other nations were desired and must be established in accordance with the interests of the Islamic Republic.

Sixth: Imam declared his opposition to any type of extremism either verbal or practical. He also emphasized on sticking to dynamic and pure Islamic teachings and thought.

Seventh:  The great Imam always gave a central stage to relieve oppressed and maintain social justice. The public, masses and oppressed must be main focal point for all government and economic decisions from viewpoint of Imam.

 

Eighth: Imam paid special attention towards combating the occupied regime of Israel. According to Imam, the governments must focus their energies on confronting Israel and it should not be ignored by the governments and Muslim nations. Imam had rightly diagnosed the destructive role of Zionist regime even several years before the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Ninth: He insisted on establishing unity among the Iranian nation and avoiding any type of slogans which could lead to any divisions.

Tenth: Imam's asserted strong bonds between the people and the government. Therefore, he put special emphasis on protecting cordial ties between the masses and the government. The great Imam recommended the government to take care of people and in return advised the masses to take care of people and he confronted those who tried to weaken the governmental institutions and system.

Eleventh: Imam insisted on construction works across the country and delivering a promising and role-model of Islamic society to the international community. According to his viewpoints, the country must be reconstructed economically and a perfect model of the Islamic developments must be presented to the public.
