FATHER!O’ Standard Bearer of Islam!
FATHER!… I should first admit that talking and writing about the essential admissions of a man who, during the alienation era of Islam, succeeded in reviving God’s religion, heretofore the lost honor and grandeur of the Muslims, caused considerable insomnia for the owners of power, wealth and weapons, made the old wish of the Muslims come true and who lay the foundations of the holy order of the Islamic Republic, is all too difficult a task for anyone to undertaken, for the Imam thought of nothing but God, nothing but a scene of implementing divine tasks could prevail over his word and deed, feared none but God and regarded government as a tool, as Imam Ali (a) did, for maintaining the sovereign rule of God’s religion and restoring to the oppressed their rights usurped by the oppressors. Expecting a sketch of the total personality, by pen or tongue, of such personalities from individuals like me is tantamount to demand the boundless sea from the sight of a puddle or pool, a sea-hearted person as the Imam who was Gnostic and whishing to perish in the cause of God.
However, in spite of all this, facts must be told and written, not only for the benefit of the future generation but for the knowledge of present one; for all those who seek the pure life in pursuing the Imam’s path; for those who sacrificed their dear ones in Khomeini’s path; for whose hearts beat with love for the realization of Khomeini’s ideals; for those who if the iron curtains and walls that enemies of humanity have erected could be removed, would, at temperatures 30 degrees below zero, dash, by regiments, into the roaring waves sights of the Araxes and a thousand streams like it just to enhance their weary sights and hearts by an image and divine message of the sage herald of the pure Islam of Muhammad (s).
Khomeini does not need our eulogy for his whole being was served from all that was not of God. In the area of practical or applied mysticism and the challenge of carnal desires, he had relinquished, long before we knew it, the earthly world and its attractions to those who wanted them. He has no need for our eulogy as by divine decree, his once elevated figure is now in repose in the earth and his exalted spirit has joined the High Heaven.
The need belongs to us, to our generation and to the generation that follow, and it is need for praise and appreciation. Although eulogizing our beloved, master and preceptor palliate the agonies of separation yet, that which we need to relate knows Khomeini, his path and ideal.
Maintaining the Islamic revolution,-the fruit of a life time struggle by the Imam and his disciples -, and insuring its success in the battle arena in which it will surely becomes involved against its sworn enemies, is possible only when we fully understand the path, the thoughts, the ideal and objectives of its founder. ...
… If the younger generation who joins up with the revolutionary path of the Imam by regiments, the young student who enter the religions seminaries and all other who, from now on, assume responsibility for the perpetuation of the Revolution, be not knowledgeable about the past, be not able to distinguish petrified, sanctimonious mentality from true Irfan (Gnosticism, mysticism), piety and real dedication and devotion, or be unable to discern the sources of danger properly, then there is the real danger of gradual return and deviation from principles in the tempestuous future events and the dusty atmosphere that may be created in the absence of Imam (s) by the masterminds that have been defeated by the Imam and the Revolution. ...
… A long, hard road, laid with thousands of hardships was traversed by the Imam until he succeeded in preserving the red banner of uprising and challenge through the current of events and in hosting it clear across the Islamic Iran in the glorified arenas of the blissful ten- day dawn festivals and the 22nd of Bahman (Feb 11, 1978). Standing up to and resisting tyrants, bullies and ruffians of the former regime cannot be compared with fighting scores of issues that had been raised and posed, opposing the true Islamic thinking. The former could entail, at the most, imprisonment, torture depuration and the blood that one wanted to offer to the cause of freedom. But, in the latter remain silent for God’s pleasure which enables one to successfully oppose for floods of false accusations and resist tonnage-lashings and formalism and, thus, once more, convert the theological centers and seminaries into centers of true, untarnished and effervescent Islam and once more, render the dedicated clergy, as ever before in history, the pioneers of uprising and Islamic revolution. ...
