Iran hails liberation of Iraqi city of Fallujah

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulates his Iraqi counterpart on the recent liberation of the Iraqi city of Fallujah from Daesh terrorists.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulates his Iraqi counterpart on the recent liberation of the Iraqi city of Fallujah from Daesh terrorists.   


In a message to his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Zarif congratulated the liberation to Iraqi people and government. 


The top Iranian diplomat called the victory a “manifestation of... divine victory for those who fight for God.”


On Friday, Iraqi government forces backed by volunteers raised the Iraqi national flag over the main government compound in Fallujah, in the western province of Anbar.


Fallujah is located about 69 kilometers (43 miles) west of the capital Baghdad.


The Iranian foreign minister also expressed hope that further victories against Daesh terrorists await the Iraqi nation
