Larijani made remarks while paying a pilgrimage to Imam Khomeini’s holy mausoleum which is located on the outskirts of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Larijani along with senior officials from judiciary was warmly welcomed at the holy site by Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

They also laid a wreath at the tomb and pledged allegiance to Imam Khomeini’s thought and ideals.

Speaking at the holy mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, Larijani said that justice and spirituality have been among major ideals of the late founding leader of the Islamic Republic and have become today’s topics across the globe. He also went onto say that spirituality and justice also form the very basic and essence of pillars of the Islamic Republic.

The developments come as Iran is marking judiciary week.

Iran set up an independent judiciary following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The revolution under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini strengthened the democratic institutions and put Iran on track of progress.

The revolution also changed the balance of power in the interest of the Islamic, developing and oppressed nations across the Mideast region and beyond.

Imam Khomeini frequently through his speeches and messages emphasized the need for promoting justice, and reviving divine values among the human socities.
