The ceremonies kick off all over the country on Tuesday morning at 9:33 a.m. local time (0603 GMT), the time when the late founder of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Khomeini, returned to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on February 1, 1979 from a 14-year exile in Paris.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 32 years ago, ending the Iranian monarchy.

The Islamic Revolution, under the guidance of the late Imam Khomeini, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.

Two months after Imam's arrival, Iranian people, in a two-day referendum staged late March, made a historic and decisive choice by voting for the establishment of the Islamic Republic system in Iran.

The people of Iran through their presence at the ballot boxes embodied one of the greatest aims of the Islamic revolution's dreams and could realize the final victory of the Islamic Revolution through their magnificent and unbelievable votes.

The glorious result of the election (98.2%) put an end to any dispute in the form of Iran's government after the fall of the 2500-year-old monarchy and through the firm leadership of Imam Khomeini (PBUH).

The unique efforts of Iran's Muslim nation, was established all across the country so that through God's help the nation could hopefully pave the ground for an Islamic government suitable for the twelfth Imam's appearance (Imam Mahdi).

The ballot, helped found a system which reflected the honorable Islamic not just in Iran but also all around the world. On this holy day, an Islamic government was established through the motto of "independence, freedom and Islamic Republic".
