Tehran is hosting the second day of an international forum in support of the Palestinian cause. The two-day event opened at the Iran International Conference Center in the Iranian capital on Tuesday.

Hundreds of foreign guests, including senior Palestinian leaders and officials of Muslim nations, are in attendance at the international summit. Several representatives of pro-Palestinian organizations are taking part in the event.

Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani, who is the chairman of the conference, gave a brief opening address before Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, officially started the conference with the speech.

Iran’s Leader called for the continuation of resistance against Israel, noting that resistance has created barriers against Zionist projects and imposed a war of attrition on Israel.

The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says those powers that created the Zionist regime in the Middle East are trying to boost it through seeking divisions among Islamic countries.

The Leader noted that continuation of resistance against Israel has created barriers against the Zionist projects in the region.

Ayatollah Khamenei said Palestine and the Palestinian resistance should be the first priority in the Islamic world.

The Leader hailed the recent Intifada of the Palestinian people as a new chapter in the history of the fight against the Zionist regime.

He noted that supporting the Palestinians and their noble fight is a duty upon all Muslim nations and governments.

Palestine has been the site of increased tensions since last August, when Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinians into the al-Aqsa Mosque’s compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds

Protests against the restrictions have been met with a deadly Israeli crackdown, which has in turn prompted strengthened Palestinian resistance, known as the third Palestinian Intifada.

It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution exposed crimes being committed by the Israeli regime against Palestinians.

Imam also recommended the Iranian officials and advised all Islamic countries to raise the Palestinian issue at the world forums and on international arena.
