The ceremony was organized at Imam Khomeini’s shrine which is located on the southern suburbs of Imam Khomeini’s shrine on the eve of Nowruz, which marks beginning of spring and new Iranian year.
The event was attended by senior government officials, members of Imam’s family, seminary and university scholars and people from various walks of life.
Addressing the ceremony, the speakers highlighted the spiritual status of martyrs and highlighted the sacrifices rendered by their families. The memorial service also paid respect to late members from family of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
Imam Khomeini’s shrine has become a center of social, religious and cultural activities over the past few years.
It is worthy to mention that the late founder of the Islamic Revolution through his historic messages and speeches frequently hailed spiritual status of martyrs and significance of their sacrifices in strengthening the Islamic-democratic system in Iran.
The Islamic Revolution under wise leadership of Imam Khomeini put Iran on track of progress, changed the balance of power by confronting aggressive policies of colonial powers and strengthened the oppressed nations.
