Iran’s Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli says we are well prepared to hold the elections.

“We are well prepared to hold the elections and have no concerns in the area,” Rahmani-Fazli made the remarks in a televised interview on Tuesday

The results of the country’s upcoming presidential election will be announced all at once, the minister said, adding, and not at different stages.

He also stressed that this has been enshrined in Iran’s Presidential Election Law.

It is estimated that the polls would not head into a second round, the minister stated. This is because that some candidates have abandoned their bids and some alliances have been formed to strengthen certain campaigns, he noted.

According to Rahmani-Fazli, The voting is to begin at 08:00 a.m. local time (03:30 a.m. GMT) on Friday,

“As long as people turn up before ballot boxes and are not legally prohibited from voting, we are going to be at their service,” he explained.

The electorate will head to the polls on Friday to choose among incumbent President Hassan Rouhani and other candidates which are competing

Iranians will also choose members of Iran’s City and Village Councils in separate elections on the same day.

It is worthy to mention that Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic had stressing about organizing free and fair elections and sought massive participation of people from various walks of life.

Imam once said in a historic message about the parliament elections as follwoing:

“… only natural that when elections are free and safe from the interference of these unrighteous individuals, righteous people will enter parliament. And when this happens, a virtuous government will be formed, a virtuous president will take control, one who will not act against the interests of the country."
