According to the News Committee of Imam Khomeini’s Commemoration, Mohammad Ali Ansari criticized the divisive acts of some political groups and said: “There has been nothing more important than national unity in Imam’s culture and school of thought and he had no goals further than bringing unity. Imam has envied people to preserve their unity in all of his speeches and messages from June 5th 1963 and from February 11th 1979 until his demise.”
He stated: “Imam’s demise anniversary should be the symbol of fulfillment of his dream of unity. Imam’s commemoration ceremony isn’t a ceremony for a group or movement to show their power but it’s a symbol of unity of all those who are faithful to Imam and his thoughts.”
He mentioned Imam as a unique person through the history of mankind who has completely accomplished all his goals and aspirations and said: “Some believe that Imam’s success in different fields is because of his great spirit and hope and some believe it was because of his knowledge. But from a deeper view from Quran and the school of Ahlulbayt we find out that his success in his movement was because of these both.”
“Imam in the time of his loneliness and difficulties which had closed all the doors of his success, spoke of the future of the Iranian nation with strength and he put aside all the difficulties in his peak of power and leaded a nation and yet he never closed his eyes on a problem in front of his nation. One of the lessons which we have to learn from Imam is to have a balance between fear and hope in our society.” said Ansari.
The secretary of Imam Khomeini’s Commemoration Committee answered the reporters during this press conference.
When a reporter asked him that are you going to use the commemoration for introducing Imam to the youth who haven’t seen him? He answered: “One of our main goals from the first day that we started our work was using the youth of the society, and this year we have tried to be in contact with schools and universities so we could give a part of the committee’s responsibility to the youth, and I hope a day would come that we could give the main works of the committee to the youth.”
Mohammad Ali Ansari mentioned the forming of three main committees with the presence of the executive, judiciary, law making and police organizations, and said: “We’ll try to hold this year's ceremony for Imam Khomeini greater and more glorious then the previous years and by God’s willing on June 2nd with the appearance of millions of people and foreign intellectuals and the presence of our Leader, the three power wings and the noble family and house hold of Imam we will have a glorious ceremony at 9 am.”
Ansari pointed to the opening of the new parliament on May 27th and said: “The selectees of people for the 9th parliament along with their chairmen will pay tribute and meet the Imam’s grandson will be present at Imam’s shrine on May 27th.”
Ansari also mentioned the presence of foreign guests and the huge number of requests from intellectual persons to attend at this ceremony and stated: “Each year scientists and scholars request for participating in this ceremony and our International Committee has started their work and a huge number of these guests will attend this ceremony their selves and we will host them in Iran.”
He then pointed to the presence of the reporters and said: “Our sportsmen and women will also participate in this ceremony.”
The secretary of Imam Khomeini’s Commemoration Committee in another part of his talks issued the Cultural Committee’s programs and said: “Holding a two days conference on “Politics and Ethics through Imam Ali’s life from the view point of Imam Khomeini” by the participation of foreign guests, a conference on “Imam Khomeini, Politics and Ethics” with the presence of Ayatollah Amini, a conference on “Islamic Awakening through the eyes of Imam” by the participation of foreign guests, holding the “2nd Del-e-Dideh Picture and Poster Festival” and the weblog festival of “Ayeneye Mehr” by the Imam’s portal are among their programs.”
