Hassan Iqbal introduced himself: "In the name of Allah, I am Hassan Iqbal from Sri Lanka and from my school days I was active in Islamic activities and also we had a very ideological moving from which we try to work with some organizations and when the Islamic revolution took place in Iran we were very much happy because Islam established first particularly that as a political power that Islam will gain momentum in the world so then I was familiar to which Islamic republic in 1984 and with Imam Khomeini also and his personality and then we were working for it and then now we have a very good coordination with Iranian organizations and another thing is that we tried to understand the other side of the Islamic world. So we knew about the people around us and people working with us and we didn’t know any thing about Iran and about the Ahlul Bayt, their right direction and Alhamdulillah given opportunity for us to know much about Iran and Islamic revolution and we will be providing that message in Sri Lanka."
He continued by informing us about how he got to know about Imam Khomeini: "It is at the time of revolution when we started to know about Imam Khomeini in 1979 because no news came to Sri Lanka about Iran and no media had the news of what is Imam Khomeini’s contribution and at that time of the revolution when every thing was in net so the country became aware of what had happened in Iran then we started to know and how Imam Khomeini has been struggling with the past regime and change of that and the success of Uma-Tul Islami after a long time. And through his writings we continue to know about what he came for, what is his message and we had a lot of his messages and a lot of his writings and this happened so a lot of people of my country know Imam now."
"As far as role of imam Khomeini is concerned let us prospect on the history, the written history says before the success of Islamic revolution in Iran we had great expectations of Islam in political system. We wanted Islam to be established in all of the world through which the political power of Islam will be very high but even actually whatever movement we had became a failure and the phenomenon did not bring about When all failed and Imam became successful we say the analyzed what brought Islamic revolution in Iran successful. We identified the certain aspect is the very strong leadership in Iran.", said Hassan when he wanted to evaluate the role of Imam Khomeini in the Islamic Awakening.
Iqbal mentioning the general perspective towards Imam Khomeini in Sri Lanka said: "I want to go back to the time of Islamic revolution how the Muslims in Sri Lanka reacted to it because at that time we were working among the people and we came across lots of good respond and we knew at that time Iran with the guidance of Imam against America the great enemy of people."
Hassan Iqbal mentioning the Unity of Muslims as a prominent idea of Imam Khomeini, added: "Not only the unity of Muslims, but also Imam had sympathy for the unity of non-Muslim nations and for all human race and he did everything for everyone in the world it is the great thing that we admire."
