The Problem of Christianity is not having an Imam Khomeini

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, a great theologian and scholar, emphasized that all divine religions were revealed from same sources and were too similar in their basic essence and teachings.

A prominent Iranian religious scholar says the Christianity has failed to produce a spiritual leader and all-inclusive personality similar to Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli, a great theologian and scholar, made remarks while delivering a lecture to learned clerics and religious scholars.

He emphasized that Christians residing in the West and some other parts of the world had distanced themselves from pure teachings of Jesus Christ and instead had fallen into trap and clutches of American and European imperialism.

“The Problem of Christianity is that they don’t have an Imam Khomeini, if someone like Imam Khomeini would have risen in Christianity and separate the American Christianity from the pure Christianity of Jesus, they wouldn’t have had these problems,” Amoli noted.

Amoli also emphasized that all divine religions were revealed from same sources and were too similar in their basic essence and teachings.

He cited several Quranic verses to prove his idea that the religions preached by the great prophets such as Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad (PBUH) were identical in their spirit.

"Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam." (The Holy Quran, 3:19),

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli later on talking about munificent management of Imam Mahdi (a.s.) said: "What does Imam Mahdi (a.s.) do that improves the minds of people? If the seven billion people were all wise and he had 313 disciples as Imam Khomeini, he would be able to manage everything, if the society is wise and the people are wise enough, then managing wise people isn't a hard work, but we are all amazed that how does Imam Mahdi improve the minds of people? How is his greatness? Only God knows."

He also concluded that the pure teachings of Christianity were totally different from the current version which is being propagated by the United States and some other Western countries.
