What are the main responsibilities of lawmakers and parliament members from Imam’s viewpoint?

Imam used to maintain that one of duties and mission of the parliament should be to eliminate deprivations of the people and solve the problems facing the society.

The parliament and lawmakers have great significance in dynamic thought of the Imam Khomeini.

 He advised the elected lawmakers to focus on the main and key issues grappling the country.

According to Imam, all social, cultural and economic problems should be solved within the country’s constitution and Islamic values, and Islam should remain their main priority.

Imam also said that those who become winners or losers in election should no keep bitter memories of contesting election and instead work for the peaceful environment to build future.

 

Imam believed that there deep relations did exist between parliament, Islamic government and law.

Imam stressed the importance of parliament and its relation with the Islamic-democratic government and its institutions.

Imam highlighted crucial role of the parliament, lawmakers and legislations in handling the country’s affairs.
