To what extent freedom of political parties is guaranteed according to Imam Khomeini?

At first, you should differentiate between the scope of Imam’s personal political views and the extent of political freedoms determined by the law as you asked about.

Imam himself believed that, dealing with such affairs is on the part of the legislative body of a country, not among the tasks designated for a leader.

Of course, we do not deny the impact of Imam’s stances on the formation of some political groups, but he never intervened in the affairs which had to be stated and explained by the law.

As for instance, after the victory of Islamic Revolution, when Mehdi Bazargan was appointed as the head of Interim Government, the Imam said to him, in arranging the cabinet you must not consider your affiliation to any political group or fraction.
