Islamic govt. to promote democracy: Imam Khomeini

Imam Khomeini, the world spiritual and religious leader told the Britain’s Times TV reporter during an historic interview that the Islamic government in Iran would promote democracy and justice.

Imam made these remarks in an the interview which was conducted during Imam’s stay on the suburbs of the French capital Paris just months before the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

In responding to a question by the journalist, Imam said that the anti-Shah sentiments were on rise and protest rallies against the Pahlavi regime were intensifying.  The great leader predicted that the Shah regime will soon fall and collapse.

The great figure of the contemporary history also referred to treachery committed by the Shah monarchy and said he had violated all laws, committed massacres and made Iran dependent on external powers. 

Imam Khomeini also made a crystal clear that he would establish an Islamic system which would promote democracy, enhance justice and will guarantee the implementation of the Islamic laws and regulations. 

The great leader concluded by saying that the Islamic Revolution will repair the damage done by the puppet regime of Shah despite all obstacles

The Islamic Revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of the great Imam which set stage for the prosperity of the Iranian and other oppressed nations across the world.

Imam Khomeini has had well command over several disciple of the Islamic sciences including the philosophy, mysticism, jurisprudence, poetry, Quranic interpretation, Islamic traditions and several other fields.

He left several works as his academic legacy which would continue to guide the generations for decades to come.
